All of CWS’s key operations and administrative personnel are also principals of the company and career oil and gas professionals. The CWS team includes Randy Moskal, Chuck Rodems, David Calvert, Clif Simonson and Petter Romming.
Mr. Moskal is a Principal of California Well Services and its General Manager. He has 30 years of oil and gas experience, 15 of which were offshore. Since 1979 he has worked as a directional driller/consultant in both Canada and the USA, driller, tool pusher (production and drilling), field operator, offshore drilling supervisor and platform supervisor. Mr. Moskal has extensive experience managing multiple projects, creative problem solving, and team management.
Mr. Rodems is a Principal of California Well Services with 30 years of onshore and offshore experience in oil and gas production as manager and in field roles. Mr. Rodems started his career with Shell Oil Company, Long Beach in 1979 as a roustabout and rig-hand and worked his way up to Relief Supervisor by 1984. From 1984-1999 he was employed by Signal Hill Petroleum in various capacities from Production Operator through Production Superintendent. In 2001 he became the Offshore Supervisor for Pacific Operators Offshore based in Santa Barbara, California. He joined Bentley-Simonson, Inc., Ventura, California in 2003 as their Operations Superintendent where he successfully handled multiple projects with exceptional organizational, problem solving and motivational skills. He is a licensed general engineering contractor.
Mr. Calvert brings over 25 years of environmental, health and safety experience to the California Well Services team. He has a diverse background in military, medical, and the petroleum industry. As a E, H & S manager he has worked with ExxonMobil, Occidental, Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, and Aera Energy. David is a consummate professional who instills confidence in his team. His ability to inspire “safety by example” makes him an excellent manager and motivator. He is a results-driven individual who evolves safety processes to better the organization and our customer relationships.
Mr. Simonson is a Principal of California Well Services. Mr. Simonson was a co-founder of Bentley-Simonson, Inc. serving as its President and Chief Operating Officer from 1994 until the sale of its assets to Plains Exploration & Production Company in March of 2005. He has spent his entire career in the oil and gas industry, first as President of D & S Industrial Services, a firm providing operating, management, consulting and environmental services for independent oil and gas producers. Mr. Simonson is a Licensed General Engineering Contractor with Hazardous Material Certification. Mr. Simonson is a member of the Board of Directors of the California Independent Petroleum Association (CIPA). Mr. Simonson holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Mr. Romming is a Principal and co-founder of California Well Services. He is a petroleum engineer with over 20 years of onshore and offshore experience. Mr. Romming’s offshore experience includes 9 years with Phillips Petroleum Norway including extensive offshore drilling and production work in the North Sea at the Ekofisk Complex. His California experience includes onshore and offshore well stimulation work for Exxon at Hondo, Heritage and Harmony and production engineering work for Venoco at Holly. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oslo State College of Engineering and a B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Southern California.
